Hoja Seca:

Hoja Seca took its first breath in 2002, when Ivan Irias and Ariel Himely, the band’s members, decided it was time to make an entrance. What began as Spanish Rock turned into a wonderful blend of tastes, sounds, and culture, each artist contributing their own musical history to create the worldly beat it has now become. Having its roots her e in Miami, Hoja Seca combines the Latin beat and tropical heat to produce a sound famous to the Magic City.

Ivan Irias was born in Tela, Honduras and moved to Miami at the age of 11. His love for music though began at a much younger age and has since grown into his passion. He started off in school shows and never stopped performing since. He has been part of a number of bands but eventually decided it was time to venture out on his own.

Ariel Himely, born in Regla, Cuba, has a different story. He was a professional athlete, participating in numerous international kayaking competitions, holding 10th place in the world....

However, his life took a different turn here in Miami, where he has lived for the past 12 years. Here, he discovered his passion for music and, like Ivan, played in various bands around town in the early days. The two performed for a number of years together and formed a friendship that would bring them to create Hoja Seca.

Hoja Seca is making a lot of noise these days and if you haven’t heard them yet, get ready, because they’re only going to get louder.

Hoja Seca dio sus primeros pasos en la primavera del 2002, cuando Ivan Irias y Ariel Himely decidieron que era el momento adecuado para su aparicion. Lo que comenzo como rock en español se a comvertido en una espectacular mezcla de gustos, sonidos y cultura, con cada artista contribuyendo su propia historia musical para crear esto en lo que se a convertido. Teniendo sus raices en Miami, Hoja Seca combina el ritmo Latino y el calor tropical de esa famosa ciudad majica.

Ivan Irias nacio en Tela, Honduras y se mudo a Miami desde sus 11 años, aunque su amor por la musica nacio a muy corta edad, a crecido y se a combertido en su passion. El comenso en competencies en la escuela y desde ese momento nunca a dejado de hacerlo. Fue parte de diferentes bandas, hasta que decidio que era hora de hacer la aventura por su cuenta.

Ariel Himely, nacio en Regla, Cuba, su historia es un poco diferente. El era un atleta profesional, participando en numerosas compentencias internacionales de Kayak, deporte con el cual llegaria a ocupar el puesto numero 10 en el mundo. Su llegada a Miami en donde radica desde hace 12 años, le cambio la vida. Aqui, el descubrio su pasion por la musica y al igual que Ivan, formo parte de varias orquestas en la ciudad. Participaron juntos por barios años y nacio una hermandad que los traeria a crear Hoja Seca.
