Biography
Things got started at the dusk of the vinyl era!! The music world has changed greatly since then but in the meantime Insanity Wave has been able to consolidate a very personal style remaining true to their spirit. Let's get to the facts. In 1992 the band recorded their first demo. This allowed them to sign with “La Fábrica magnetica”, a prestigious Spanish independent label that released their first E.p. “Insanity Wave” in 1993 and the "Go Off" album in 1995. After a good pile of gigs, and a change of label to Roto Records, the group travelled across seas to Chicago to record their second album with Jeff Murphy (of Shoes fame) at Short Order Recorder. The album "Do The Worm" saw the light of day in 1997. In 1999 a double cd compilation was put out under the title of "33 * 3" by PeermusicŽs record label Pressure. This double cd compiled all the band's official recordings to that day and several unreleased tracks (mainly live radio recordings an spare tracks released in several –hard to find- compilations). In year 2000 Insanity Wave recorded their last album titled “The Minor league”. For this purpose the band flew to Kernersville, North Carolina to record with the mighty Mitch Easter at his Fidelitorium studios. Mitch Easter, producer of R.E.M., Velvet Crush or Pavement amongst others helped the band move several steps up the ladder in order to accomplish their best recording. All through these years, Insanity Wave has not stopped playing gigs, whether in Spain (in small venues or big festivals like Benicassim) or in Ireland, France or Portugal, has also participated in chart topping compilations such as "Generation Next Vol. 1" (1998) or in several film soundtracks like "La mujer mas fea del mundo" (1999), Jaime ChavarriŽs “Besos para todos”, Pascal Jongen`s “Menos es más” or the Goya award short-film winner "Siete cafes por semana". Also the Brazilian label Paradise Records released “Go off” in 1996 and the cool New York based label SpinART put out "Do the Worm" in the USA in 1998. Currently the band is still going strong, playing acoustic and full band gigs with a new and rejuvenated line-up.In 2006 weŽve been touring UK. Our last gig at "The Most famous club in the world" THE CAVERN (Liverpool) at the International Pop Overthrow Festival.Let There be Power Pop!

(born February 19, 1956) formed, along with Chris Stamey, the singing, songwriting, and guitar-playing core of the dB's, a 1980's jangle-pop band from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He became the band's principal songwriter and singer after Stamey's departure. The dB's were at the forefront of the guitar bands from the southeast in the 1980's along with R.E.M., Let's Active, etc. The dB's never achieved the prominence of R.E.M. but was critically recognized and is still greatly appreciated today. The band, with Stamey back in the fold, has reformed with new material in 2005-2006. Holsapple was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, moving with his family to North Carolina in 1962. He played in bands since 1964, professionally since 1970. His band Rittenhouse Square with Mitch Easter, Chris Stamey and Bobby Locke released an independent album in 1972. When Rittenhouse broke up, Holsapple joined future dB's drummer Will Rigby and several other high school friends in Little Diesel, a proto-punk rock band that ran against the tastes of Southern rock. Little Diesel's album No Lie (produced by Chris Stamey in 1974) was released on twenty 8-track cartridges, and it was finally re-released in 2006 on Telstar Records. College broke the band up, but Holsapple continued to write and sing, eventually moving to New York from Memphis, where he'd recorded at Sam Phillips Studio with Big Star engineer Richard Rosebrough, three months into the dB's existence. He joined as keyboard player and backing vocalist, but he quickly began submitting his songs, playing guitar and singing lead vocals alongside Stamey. After the dB's broke up in 1988, Holsapple worked as a full-time guitarist and keyboardist for R.E.M. on the Green world tour. He participated in the writing and development, as well as the recording of their 1991 multi-platinum release, Out of Time, but subsequently left R.E.M. due to disputes over songwriting credits [1]. Holsapple subsequently joined Hootie and the Blowfish as an auxiliary member. Holsapple joined the Continental Drifters (no longer extant), for whom he had first produced some demos and the Nineteen Ninety-Three album. The band was originally based out of Los Angeles but the members eventually relocated to New Orleans. The band included members of the Dream Syndicate, the Bangles and the Cowsills. They went on to record three well-received albums, an EP of Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson covers, and several tribute album tracks that unfortunately did not translate into a lot of sales. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Holsapple relocated from New Orleans to Durham, North Carolina. In 1991, he and Stamey reunited to record an album entitled Mavericks. Holsapple also has one solo album, 1997's Out of My Way which is out of print. In September of 2005, the classic line-up of the dB'S performed two shows in Chicago and two in Hoboken, New Jersey. December 2006 brought Stamey-Holsapple Christmas shows in North Carolina. The Bowery Ballroom in NYC hosted the dB'S in January 2007, and in February 2007 the dB's made a brief appearance at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro NC. A new album is expected as well.

Todo lo que siempre quiso saber sobre Sony Atv Music Publishing Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC is one of the world's largest music publishing companies. The company was formed by the 1995 merger of the Sony Corporation of America's music publishing business with ATV Music, which Michael Jackson had purchased in 1985 for $47 million. Sony and Jackson each hold 50%, although Michael Jackson's half is currently pledged as collateral on a secured loan of over $200 million. Among Sony/ATV's most valuable holdings are the Northern Songs catalogue, consisting of 180 songs written by The Beatles (mostly by Lennon-McCartney) and Sony/ATV Music Nasvhille, the 200,000 song "Holy Grail" of country music, which comprises numourous historic music catalogs that once dominated Nashville's Iconic Music Row. The oldest and perhaps most historic of all country music catalogs is Acuff-Rose Music. Founded in 1945 on a handshake and a promise by two of Nashvilles music industry pioneers Roy Acuff and Fred Rose, Acuff-Rose operated indepenently for 40 years until it was purchased by Opryland USA in 1982. Having enjoyed a prosporous 10 year run with Opryland, Acuff-Rose found itself in the midst of Opryland's sale to Oklahoma based media Edward Gaylord just after the turn of the century. Gaylord's leadership team, at the time consisting of Jack Rose and Colin Reed were never thought to be long term players on Music Row. Predictably, in 2002, running very low on cash, and desperately searching for a way to acquire enough cash to finish the half built Gaylord Palms Hotel in Grapevine, TX Rose and Reed looked over to Music Row, saw a rock-solid, perrinial financial performer sitting at the corner of 17th and Grand. No doubt, the decision came quickly and easily to these astute corporate leaders/hoteliers; Acuff Rose was for sale to the highest bidder and would provide the cash infusion needed in order to complete the Gaylord Palms Hotel. Sony/ATV Music, two blocks down 17th Avenue "came to the rescue of the employees by providing the winning bid for A/R. Having the catalog remain in Nashville was the number one priorty for the management staff and all employees of Acuff-Rose. While most employees of Acuff Rose were not offered jobs during the acquisition, a core group of executives and creatives joined the Sony/ATV team and continue to thrive at what was once considered the enemy by Wesley Rose. During the same time that Wesley Rose, Bud Brown and Roy Acuff were building Acuff Rose, Jack Stapp and Lou Cowan were a couple of blocks north, building a publishing empire that really, had no peers. However, consolidation was rampant during this time and it was only a matter of time before Tree International was purchased by the Joint Venture between Michael Jackson's ATV catalog and Sony Music Entertaintment. Having gobbled up the unquestioned jewels of Music Row, Sony/ATV Music has positioned itself as the preeminent country music publisher in the world. Ably led for many years by the trailblazing Donna Hilley, Today's Sony/ATV Nashville is headed by Music Row verteran and former Acuff-Rose songplugger, Troy Tomlinson. Known for his fair dealings and an aw-shucks persona, Tomlinson is continuing the tradition of leading music row's publishing industry from the third floor corner office at the Sony/ATV offices located at the top of Music Row. Through the longstanding practice of acquiring undervalued catalogs as well as developing A-list writers in-house, Sony/ATV Nashville boasts some of the most important country music songwriters of the last half of the 20th Century including Hank Williams, Harlan Howard, Roy Orbison, Buck Owens, Mickey Newbuy, Willie Nelson, Don Gibson, Bill Anderson, Pee Wee King, Redd Stewart, Sonny Throckmorton, Dallas Frazier, Hank Cochran, Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, Whitey Shafer, Lefty Frizell, John D. Loudermilk, Merle Haggard and Curly Putman. These legendary songwriters have provided a very substantial foundation for our current staff of writers to continue to build upon. Sony/ATV's current roster includes Casey Beathard, Dean Dillon, Bob DiPiero, Derrick Ruttan, Taylor Swift, Ronnie Dunn, Kix Brooks, Charlie Peackock, Grethen, and Kenny Chesney and Miranda Lambert.
Born November 15, 1954 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Easter was deeply involved in music from an early age. He played in a number of school bands, some of them with his childhood friend Chris Stamey. The two eventually formed The Sneakers, who released a number of singles and an album in the late 1970s. Stamey and fellow bandmate Will Rigby eventually formed The dB's and moved to New York. Easter did likewise, but soon returned to Winston-Salem to set up Drive-In Studio in his parents' garage. Drive-In Studio became an integral part of the local indie-rock scene, recording a number of bands at knock-down rates. It was at this time that Easter formed Let's Active with then-girlfriend Faye Hunter and drummer Sara Romweber. Around the same time, Easter worked with R.E.M. to record their debut single Radio Free Europe. This initial work led to a number of collaborations with the band, with Easter producing their debut EP and (with Don Dixon) their first two albums. Let's Active toured with R.E.M., which led to a recording contract with I.R.S. Records. Weathering several line-up changes, Let's Active released an EP and three albums before splitting up. Easter had by then become known primarily as a producer, and worked with a number of artists, some of them perhaps because of his influence on the early R.E.M. His production credits include recordings by Pavement, Game Theory, Marshall Crenshaw, Velvet Crush, Richard Barone, Ken Stringfellow (of The Posies), and The Loud Family. Easter's current studio is The Fidelitorium near Winston-Salem. Mitch Easter's first solo album in 18 years, Dynamico, was released on March 13, 2007.
