Biography
Based in New Jersey, My Chemical Romance is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop band that has been compared to Thursday and, to a lesser degree, Cursive. Their name was inspired by author Irvine Welsh (of Trainspotting fame), and while many of their songs are loud, fast, hyper, and aggressive, My Chemical Romance's work also tends to be melodic and pop-minded. My Chemical Romance got started in the early 2000s, when lead singer Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier decided to try writing some songs together. The first tune that Way and Pelissier -- who had been friends since high school -- came up with was called "Skylines and Turnstiles" (a post-9/11 song written after Way witnessed the Twin Towers fall while working at his animation job in New York City). Way and Pelissier both felt good about the song, and Way asked guitarist Ray Toro if he would be interested in working with them. My Chemical Romance's five-man lineup was complete when Way, Pelissier, and Toro joined forces with bassist Mikey Way (Gerard's little brother) and guitarist Frank Iero. With that lineup in place, the band started playing all around the Northeast Corridor and made plans to begin working on their first album.
In 2002, Eyeball Records (the New York-based indie for which Thursday had recorded) released My Chemical Romance's debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. The album was often compared to Thursday -- a comparison that, for various reasons, was inevitable and unavoidable. Both bands were from New Jersey, both had recorded for Eyeball, and both combined punk-pop's musical aggression with introspective, confessional lyrics. Plus, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love was produced by Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly. But Thursday isn't their only influence; reviewers have cited the Smiths, Morrissey, the Cure, and the Misfits as influences, while the older Way has even cited British heavy metal icons Iron Maiden.
Lyrically, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is as dark as it is introspective and cathartic; Way has been quoted as saying that the band's lyrics were a great way for him to deal with the problems he had been going through (which included severe depression, drug/alcohol abuse, and a serious illness in his family). The 2002 release included Way and Pelissier's first song, "Skylines and Turnstiles," and many of the album's other song titles were equally intriguing, including "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us" and "Vampires Will Never Hurt You." In 2003, My Chemical Romance signed with Reprise/Warner Bros. and released the aggressively slick Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge one year later. Proving to be hugely popular, the album boasted several successful singles on commercial radio and MTV, including "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," "Helena," and "The Ghost of You," as the album climbed the Billboard charts.
Amid their growing popularity, Pelissier departed from the band in mid-2004, and he was soon replaced on drums by Bob Bryar; they'd previously met while touring with the Used, as Bryar was doing sound for the Utah act. Relentless touring continued to increase their fanatical fan following; the band headlined dates with Alkaline Trio, scored an opening slot for Green Day, and shared bills with Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, and the Used, among many others. As My Chemical Romance prepared to enter the studio for their third album, they issued Life on the Murder Scene in March 2006. The CD and double-DVD package extensively documented practically everything MCR, including demos, music videos, live footage, interviews, and more; it sufficiently tied fans over until My Chemical Romance (now boasting a sober and bleach-haired Gerard Way) issued the darkly conceptual and highly ambitious The Black Parade that October. Anticipation for the album could barely be contained at the release of its grandiose first single, "Welcome to the Black Parade," whose elaborate accompanying video looked and sounded like the result of Tim Burton directing Queen. My Chem!! bueno pues para mi todas tienen un mensaje que me llega y pues no tengo una cancion son todas!! aunque muchos lo encuentran absurdo asi es y no me da miedo decirlo pues asi lo siento. Pues detodas maneras eligo una por que asi lo pide el concurso y pues es dificil pero yo creo que Headfirst For Halos en general la letra me transporta a un evento de mi vida personal y me encanta el final donde dice think happy thoughts (piensa en cosas felices) eso en verdad me encanta y esa cancion se hizo especial para mi y me encanto oirla en el Zero fest fue lo mejor!! bueno un saludo y sigan haciendo tan buena musuca son excelentes!

☠Well firstable, I would like to say that McR is one of the best Bands that I have ever heard. I'm pretty sure that McR has fans all over the ★WORLD★.....I ♥love♥ all of McR songs because thay are all amaizing its very hard to describe how much I like their songs and how they sing. The perfect word for describing them hasn't yet been Discover! :] Its really hard for me to pick one song but I'll say that " I Don't Love You" </3 is my fav.. Why? the music is awesome and the lyrics, oooooh my God!!! Its my favorite one because I can relate the song to my own personal experience. What the song is trying to say is that that whenever she decides to leave him, he is not going to be begging her to stay and when she comes back he is not going to be there for her. And after all the love that he gave her, she left without saying a word, and thats why i like it because that same thing happen to me, and althoug is kinda sad i still consider it as my all time favorite... Well, I'm come back for my sweet revenge! (Second part) I've been thinking about my favorite song…. Even it's complicated to choose one… I reiterate that my favorite song could be "FAMOUS LAST WORDS" because saves my life and help to me out of my depression. If I were with MCR, I would be with them in a haunted castle in Scotland. Into the Castle; we'll have been sitting in front of one huge window and seeing the rain and the dense fog of the mythical Scotland wood. Meanwhile, Bob, Ray and Frank will be drinking a hot chocolate. Mikey, Gerard and I will be drinking a delicious hot cappuccino. Everybody are enjoying the cold afternoon in front of the warm fire of that old chimney moreover, Gerard is telling fantastic stories about Scotland castles and others places. This is the last night in the Scotland. Tomorrow the guy of my chemical romance will be flying to New York and I will be in Mexico. We are having a special night in that amazing place and Ray are playing an acoustic guitar while Gerard and Frank are singing "Famous Last Words". We had a dinner a traditional Scottish food and then we did the packing. Gerard and I were talking alone; he told me an amazing plan for us for tomorrow. He looked me sweetly and smiled to me then, he held my hand and he tried to whisper to me something in my ear suddenly, I wake up scared. I felt something over me. Oh, no! It's my cat. I'm sad because my little cat jumps over me and destroy my fantastic dream. Well, I'll be waiting the night and I could dream again for my sweet revenge and I hope listen those famous last words... This was part of my dream, could be crazy but, for me was real! I'm sorry if I wrote incorrectly this English message, but I speak Spanish! ¡Gracias MCR por su música, su pasión y su entrega!! Hello My Chemical Romance, I like their music a lot. The song that I like a lot to my it is, there is it is that not you which to choose, I love all. But the but special it is the one of "I Don`t Love You", when one him to give all their love to another person and it doesn't value it, he/she leaves and he/she leaves us suffering and when going he/she is asked that please he/she doesn't think that one will request him to stay. But sooner or later he/she will realize how much it lost. That song is my preferred for that always passes me the same thing in the love, they leave and after a time they realize that nobody but he/she will give them the love that I could offer him while it was with me. I want to take part in this competition!! "The Black Parade" is the only one option to be happy and I would like to correct: THE BLACK PARADE IT'S ALIVE AND KICKING!!! Because everyday I've been listening this great album. I love MCR songs and it's hard to choice only one…. Let me think! …. Mmm… Many songs have a special meaning in my life... Let me see! ... I'm thinking! …. It's only one song? ... Well, could be "FAMOUS LAST WORDS" because this song literally saves my life and I can out of my depression. The letter of that song changes the sense of my life "Well is it hard understanding" right? But now I'm a happy person and I feel great!. Now "I am not afraid to keep on living…I am not afraid to walk this world alone". The Chemical way it's a kind of life and that song return me alive! For many people all theirs songs could be dark and depressing…but inside of the lyrics I found positives messages for my life. Thanks MCR for that "Famous last words" and for your music and your shows. I'll be fighting for that Limited edition Package! But I'll need "Three cheers for my sweet revenge" isn't it? My Chemmm!!!! :D son lo mejor, muy geniales amo su música desde que los conozco han sigo mi obsesión, siente los escucho donde sea. Fui a su concierto que hicieron en Chile entubó increíblemente genial muy bkn estar ahí cantando sus canciones, escuchándolos tocar en vivo, Ray es único!!! :) nunca me imagine ir a un concierto de MCR. Me quiero ganar el set no se si pueda participar espero que si :D el dvd es lo mas esperado por mi verlo en el trailer se ve genial. Amo su grupo hace mucho son algo muy importante para mi, ustedes son increíble lo mejor que pude conocer hacen musica que levantan el animo dan ganas de despertar. Bueno mi Canción favorita - tiene que ser una? Amo todas, en el cd The Black Parade mis favoritas son: Mama, This is how I disappear, Famous last words, The sharpest lives y Teenagers porque me gusta mucho sus letras y el sentimiento que me dejan al escucharlos es bkn tambn en vivo fueron lo mejor ……………………………. :D

hola mi gente de my chemical romance, vaya aunque no lo crean debo ser uno de sus fans de mas edad jajaj creo tengo 44 años y este febrero que paso los fui a ver en mi ciudad caracas venezuela jaja ese concierto estuvo demasiado bueno sobre todo la cancion mama y teenagers jaja yo estaba en casi el centro aguantadome los empujones de todas esas chicas y los panas que fueron a verlos alli estaba un tipo tan alto como yo de bigotes blanco el con unos audifonos pendiente de que nada le ocurriera a la banada y jaj me dio risa sacaban a chicas casi desmayadas por encima de nosotros eso si se llama amor a esta musica la verdad fue una experiencia genial no disfrutaba esto desde el año 1991 cuando vino el grupo de police la banada que siempre he escuchado y ahora agregue a mi repertorio my chemical romance me compre los discos y cd que traen dvd pues son buenosss una de las cosas que mas me dio risa fue que el baterista en vez de zumbar las baquetas hacia adelante jaj pues era hacia atras y alli quien estaba pues nadie jaja y yo decia bueno se le perdio la brujula a este pana jaja bueno la verdad para poder decir algo cierto ojala me pudiera ganar este set los admiro y sobre todo porque mi trabajo es con musica ya que aun con mis 44 años soy dj.s y cumplo los 45 este año en agosto seria un regalo wuaooo el mejor lo cuidaria hasta cederlo por post morten jajaja bueno un saludo a todos los fans de my chemical romance sigamos esperando sus nuevos exitos y si vuelven pues lo vere de nuevo jaja a una cosa la proxima vez que los contraten en mi pais ya que yo trababo con esto de musica pues que les coloquen unas pantallas para los que quedaron muy atras pudan disfrutarlos bien yo los vi de cerca pero los demas valen tambien cuidense mucho nos vemossss a mi correo es monchin75@hotmail para los panas de aqui y por supuesto my chemical romance graciasss por venir

Pues la verdad es que me gustan todas sus canciones pero en especial me gustan las de Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.Sus letras son tan *__* que es dificil definir lo que siento cuando las escucho pero muchas veces me han ayudado cuando simplemente tenia ganas de dejarlo todo.Las letras de The Black Parade tambien dan mucho que pensar,te hacen ver la muerte desde una perspectiva muy cercana y todos los sentimientos ante ella.Es uno de mis grupos favoritos y me alegro de haber dado con ellos.Y nunca nadie podra hundirlos como estan intentando ultimamente porque tod@s estamos con ellos.Estoy esperando ansiosa el nuevo disco,necesito escuchar mas de sus letras ^^ Me gustaria ganar el Set (como a todos los que participan ^^) y si no que alguien me diga donde lo puedo comprar cerca de donde vivo porque aqui no lo hay ^^
