In an industry where conformity is a standard practice, Shawn Elliot has distinguished himself as a rebellious artist walking the fine line between creative and commercial. In doing so, he has been able to establish a loyal fan base of people that would not normally listen to hip-hop, thus reaching a market the current state of the genre fails to satisfy.
Many established musicians and industry professionals have realized the potential in Shawn Elliot and his unique ability to reach an incredibly diverse audience. The list of people that have jumped on board to either collaborate or help him promote his album is impressive, to say the least. Grammy award winning songwriter and producer Vini Poncia, and producer Donovan Knowles, who has worked with acts such as Destiny's Child, Matchbox 20, and Janet Jackson, are just a small list of established professionals that have either contributed music, promoted, or stamped their seal of approval on Shawn Elliot.

One of his most recent collaborations was with Eddie Cornelius, an R&B Hall of Fame inductee part of the 70s Motown super group Eddie Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose. With mega hits like "Treat Her Like A Lady" and "Too Late to Turn Back Now," the group had massive success, with the top five hits receiving five and six millions spins to date, respectively. Eddie Cornelius approached Shawn Elliot to produce a hip-hop remix of "Treat Her Like A Lady" citing its recent appearance in the movie "Anchorman" had renewed an interest in the song. Shawn produced, performed on, engineered, and even had Eddie re-record his vocals for the remix, creating something quite rare, a remix in which the actual artist re-records their vocals for the song. Shawn also appeared as a guest artist on Eddie Cornelius new comeback album, slated for release later this year. Another guest appearance has placed Shawn on an R&B remix of the song "All Out of Love" by dance artist Sherese, which recently hit number one on a radio station in Connecticut.
Currently, Shawn is working with Rick Finch, a Grammy award-winning producer for KC & the Sunshine band. He is also working extensively with Tommy Dalton, an established rock artist who has worked with John Hampson from the band Nine Days, Atlantic recording artist Lucy Woodward, and a slew of others. Together, they are producing an acoustic rock/hip-hop album, seeing the potential for this collaboration to create music that could potentially reach and unite the two largest genres of music. In addition to working day and night to create new music for eagerly awaiting fans, Shawn works equally as hard performing in South Florida, often touring with Tommy Dalton in which they perform songs from their upcoming album. With an exciting 45-minute set that includes a live band and guest artists, Shawn has quickly become a much sought after act. Along with local clubs, Shawn has performed at several festivals and larger venues including the Hollywood Band Shell and most recently being part of the opening act for The Backstreet Boys at Sound Advice Amphitheater in West Palm Beach.
With the talent and knowledge to produce, engineer and perform, as well as the ability to create music that people from every culture and every genre can appreciate, Shawn Elliot is the perfect all inclusive artist, eager to share his talent with the world.
