Mucho antes de nacer ya SISSI estaba predestinada a ser estrella. Fue precisamente su bisabuela quien sin saber el sexo de su bisnieta la bautizó con el nombre de SISSI en honor a la famosa historia de Sissi Emperatriz.

Sus ojos verdes vieron la luz un 13 de octubre de 1975, en la Habana, Cuba.

SISSI casi nace en un teatro, según recuerda su madre, Dinorah Arguelles, quien fuera primera figura del Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba. Allí en la caribeña isla, SISSI creció rodeada de arte, luces, actores e intelectuales famosos. Cuba le regaló un mundo de sensaciones, mezcló la cultura africana con la europea, se amamantó con las canciones líricas y las operas que día a día practicaba su madre en la sala de su casa de la vieja Habana. Pero, también, en las calles de la Habana, SISSI aprendió a admirar la música de Los Beatles, bailó salsa, escuchó rock, tocó tambores y en un malecón habanero de inmensas olas soñó llegar muy lejos.
